DRD manages many different types of pools: swim clubs, community pools, apartment pools, hotel pools and marina pools. Some pools are multi-lifeguard facilities and some are single-lifeguard facilities.

DRD operates pools in many communities in Baltimore County, Howard County, Carroll County, Harford County and Baltimore City.  DRD will place you at a pool that is convenient to your location.

Hourly compensation is based on an individual’s level of experience and the level of responsibility you accept as your pool assignment.

You can work as many hours or as few hours as you would like based on your availability and expectations. Overtime hours are available with approval.

Many lifeguards request time off during the summer.  A request for 1-3 days off must be made at least fourteen days in advance. A request for an extended period of time must be made at least 3-4 weeks in advance.

You must contact the DRD office by 8:00am to allow your staffing coordinator enough time to find a substitute to cover your shift.  Do not leave a voice mail.

All lifeguards must be DRD identifiable and in uniform while on duty.  A DRD uniform is provided as part of the training cost.
